Pyramid Spikes 6mm

Pyramid Spikes are a versatile track & field spike for use on synthetic tracks. They are a popular choice for sprinters, middle distance and field event athletes and the preferred spike for long distance runners.

The conical design of the spikes mean that they have a sharp tip, which will penetrate the track surface to provide traction. Compared to other spike styles, they will penetrate a track surface more deeply, as the force of an athlete will be concentrated onto their narrow tip.

Overtime, the tip will wear down from usage, blunting the spike. To maximise their strength and durability, our spikes are made from quenched and tempered steel. When taken care of, the spikes will last a long time before needing replacement.

Our spikes are easily replaced when the time comes, using a standard spikes key. Our replacement spikes are compatible with all major spike shoe brands, including Nike, Adidas, Asics, Puma and New Balance.

Although they can be used for all events, 6mm Pyramid Spikes are usually preferred over Christmas Tree Spikes when competing in long distance events and steeplechase. For other events (sprints, middle distance and jumps) whether an athlete prefers Pyramid Spikes or Christmas Tree Spikes is a personal preference.

These spikes are also useful to wear on cross country course that have a hard surfaces such as compact dirt. For softer cross country surfaces involving soft grass and/or mud, longer spikes such as 9mm Pyramid Spikes or 12mm Grass Spikes will be more useful.
